ESSENCE AND EXISTENCE.

мgлЧгеаlвuildeгs

ESSENCE AND EXISTENCE:

Leaves falls from trees
Some fall when old
Some, pulled down by breeze
So also is souls
Some are called home early
While some get to make names clearly
We don't know when it's coming
But we sure feel it when he arrives
Now take out time to think
What if I drown or my heart sink?
Will I be safe with him?
Will my name be said with things sweet?
Will people forget I lived?
Or will my legacy continue to live?
What have you done with your time?
I speak with a heart full of tears
Cause at the end we all shall sleep
But not all shall sleep in peace
My little piece of advice :
Work right, so you can rest in peace

Technological Shift: Are You Ready?

Technological Shift: Are You Ready?

By Akpejeluh Peter

In 1977, Ken Olsen founder of DEC was quoted saying “there is no reason why anyone would ever want a whole computer”. In 2013, the CEO of Nokia broke down during a press conference saying  somehow they failed albeit they did nothing wrong,  However, in hindsight, you’d realize what they did wrong was they failed to envisage how technology would create, shape and change the future.
Today, taking a look at any country termed “Developed”, it is crystal clear the mainstream of such development is by and large because of technology. Today Israel is literally driving the world. With a population of just over eight million, she is the world leader in autonomous vehicle production. It was reported about 500 technology companies, 4000 entrepreneurs and 250 research groups sprang up almost instantaneously. Similarly, in Singapore, a nation with no natural resources has become the world’s innovation hub. Technology giants Amazon, Facebook, Baidu, Google, Microsoft, Alibaba alongside several multinational corporations other that constitute 80% of the world’s technological firms have established regional operational base in Singapore. Recently, the World Economic Forum, saddled with the responsibility of improving the state of the world, released “The Jobs Landscape in 2022” and interestingly so, the top 10 emerging roles that will create about 133 million jobs are all technology related. In the same vein, a survey in Nigeria showed that 8 skills in high demand in 2019 are project management, coding, writing, public speaking, Google Analytics, Digital marketing, Excel Knowledge and web development. Hence it is expedient that you strategically position yourself to be and remain relevant in this digital age.
However, it is important to point out that albeit technology has numerous unquestionable benefits, it can be misused as a tool of distraction, depression, disconnection and destruction. By 2025, the younger generation will make up the majority of the workforce, are they even ready and equipped for this? Many are now unplugged from their immediate environment as they stay plugged in to browsers for hours. Misuse of social media have led many to measure self-worth by the amount of followers and likes. But amidst this sad reality, the blame is not on technology but the user. Information, communication, connection and transportation hitherto the emergence of technology posed great challenges. But now, we can connect crowds around the cloud, the ignorant to knowledge, uneducated to college and injustices to those who can stop it. So whether it is building driverless cars, floating houses or even taking a vacation on mars, it is made possible through technology. Hence, never put the blame on an object that is subject to a user.
Finally, whether you assert to it or not, technology is here to stay. So learn from the mistakes, success stories and principles of individuals, companies and nations mentioned here. Garner the necessary skillset and knowledge required today, so you can be relevant tomorrow.

Why you must Act - Article 316

Ereyomi Oluwaseyi Samuel

Why You Must Act__Article 316

 "Nothing happens until something moves"

Throughout history we have records of men who have turn their story into glory and moved from zero to becoming a hero. All of this was via action.

As humans, we are excellent in analysing problems and proffering solutions but poor in taking action.

When faced with challenges, it feels better to ignore or pretend. But, you know this will not make things any better.

You have got to start now. You have to act now.

In life, what matters is not what happen to you or where you are coming from.

What matters is what you do with what happens and that which you have been given. All of these, you should use to your advantage.

There is no place to run to because you have a purpose to fulfill.

If we will accomplish our goals, there is only one way. Moving forward with the right action.

Thank You!
